On Thursday December 4th of 2008 a call came into the San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District of a structure fire located at 1670 Grove Road @ Chase Avenue on the border between Spring Valley and El Cajon.

November 18th Tuesday 2008 On November 18th Tuesday of 2008 a 3 alarm fire broke out in an unincorporated community of El Cajon . With fifteen engine companies and sixty firefighters the fire was controlled around 5:45 pm on Tuesday evening.

November 18th Tuesday of 2008 On November 18th Tuesday of 2008 a 911 call came into the El Cajon Police Department of four male young adults in the Vons parking lot located at Chase Avenue & Avocado Boulevard with guns firing at each other. As El Cajon police officers arrived they immediately drew there guns on the four male suspects. As officers later discovered the four male adults were lighting off firecrackers in the parking lot and running around as if they had weapons.

On Tuesday the 28th of October 2008 a small brush fire broke out in a quiet neighborhood in the east part of El Cajon in the 1100 block Summner Avenue. As Engine 19 arrived from the San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District they bumped the call to a 1st alarm brush response which brought units from nearby agencies such as El Cajon, Santee, & Lakeside.
