My experience of the mass of wildfire and destruction of the West Bernardo neighborhood and eastern Poway.
As I started my day on West Bernardo Street I discovered about 25 homes in the 3 blocks of Duenda Avenue @ West Bernardo Street, completely destroyed by the Witch Fire. The fire had blown through this neighborhood like a huge wave of fire, destroying everything and anything in it’s path. I was attached to a County Strike Team which was a structure protection unit.
